VHA Lean Curriculum Development

Problem

VHA needed a Lean Community of Practice structure to standardize, grow, and sustain continuous process improvement across the enterprise. Forward movement was stalled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Restrictions.

Solution

Developed Green Belt, Black Belt and a Master Black Belt training and certification programs, including potential virtual platforms. Designed a Lean Mentoring Program and built an enterprise-wide Lean Knowledge Portal and Hub in SharePoint.

Outcome

Successful evolution of Lean belted professionals from Green Belt thru Master Black Belt Programs and Certification. Standardized “Look and Feel” of all enterprise Lean courses for 350,000 staff members while providing training flexibility, including virtual exercises, activities and content.
